Dcard will protect your personal data and privacy in accordance with the law. You understand and confirm that Dcard has clearly informed you about the matters related to the protection of personal data in accordance with Article 8, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Data Protection Act as follows:
- Purpose of collection:
Dcard collects your personal data to provide you with the Dcard Service. Specific purposes include:
- marketing (classification 040);
- internal name-list management on members or other registered members (classification 052);
- non-government agencies collect or process personal information under legal obligations (classification 063);
- contract, contract-like, or other legal relation matters (classification 069);
- consumer, customer management, and service (classification 090);
- advertisement or commercial behavior administration (classification 152);
- movie, television, music, and media administration (classification 153);
- investigation, statistics, and research analysis (classification 157); and
- other uses related to the Dcard Service. For example, in order to understand your usage, we may invite you to come to Dcard for an interview, or after your explicit consent, contact a third-party vendor to jointly organize marketing activities (see Article I for details).
- Type of collection:
We may be actively (please note that when you use the Dcard Service, even if you are not logged in, we may still recognize you or your device) or passively (if you disclose the information yourself when publishing posts or replies) collect your registration information and records of activities using the Dcard Service, depending on your degree of use of the Dcard Service. This includes but is not limited to your location, article preferences, interactions with other users (including comments and internal messages), IP address, device information, usage time, browsing and click records, and all other information that Dcard obtains from your use of the service. The actual data depends on your usage, but may include the following types.
- Information for identifying individuals: Such as name, title, address, office address, previous address, home telephone number, cell phone number, messenger account, Internet platform registration account, contact and residence address, photograph, email, digital signature, serial number of certificate card, certificate serial number, record providing Internet identity authentication or application inquiry service record, as well as any other data which can identify the individual. - Individual description: For example: age, gender, date of birth, birthplace, and nationality. (Code C011)
- Physical description: For example: height, weight, and blood type. (Code C012)
- Habits: For example: smoking and alcohol. (Code C013)
- Characteristics: For example: a comment or opinion on certain characteristics. (Code C014)
- Family: For example: marriage status and number of children. (Code C021)
- Details about other family members: For example: offspring, dependents, other family members or relatives, parents, cohabitants, and relatives living abroad or in mainland China. (Code C023)
- Residence and facilities: For example: the address of residence, the type of facility, value, and name of the homeowner. (Code C031)
- Properties: For example: all the movable property and real estate owned or have other rights to. (Code C032)
- Travel and other migration: For example: details of previous emigration, traveling details, foreign passports, residency proof documents, work permits, and working certificate. (Code C034)
- Recreational activities and interests: For example: hobbies, sports, and other interests. (Code C035)
- Lifestyles: For example: the types and details of consumer goods and services, and personal or family consumption patterns. (Code C036)
- Occupation: For example: various occupations. (Code C038)
- Licenses or other permissions: For example: driver’s license and vehicle license. (Code C039)
- School records: For example: universities, colleges, or other schools. (Code C051)
- Qualification or skill: For example: educational qualifications, professional skills, special licenses, governmental vocational training processes, national examinations, grades, and other training records. (Code C052)
- Occupation expertise: For example: expert, scholar, and consultant. (Code C054)
- Works: For example: book, article, report, audio-visual publishing, and other works. (Code C056)
- The time period and territory in which the personal data is used:
- Dcard will keep your personal data on file during its operational period. Dcard will store your personal data in the storage space we purchased or rented. The actual storage location may change depending on the location of the server (may include Taiwan, Singapore and Japan). You agree that we do not need to notify you regarding server storage location changes.
- Dcard users may log in and use the Dcard Service from anywhere in the world. Thus, you understand and agree that, due to the range of use of Dcard, we may use your personal data worldwide to improve the provision of the Dcard Service.
- Recipients and methods of which the personal data is used:
Dcard and its affiliates, business partners, competent authorities, any third-party upon your consent (e.g. according to Article I), and providers of social media and software services used by Dcard will process, use, or internationally transmit your personal data within the scope of the specific collection purpose by electronic, written, telephone, telecommunications, Internet, and other methods.
Moreover, Dcard may provide your personal data to a third party in the following situations, or use it beyond the scope of the specific purpose of this policy:
- When subject to judicial investigations, police, or other authorities with investigation requirements.
- When safeguarding public welfare or protecting the rights of this site or others.
- When your behavior violates the law or the contract between you and this site (not limited to this Agreement).

For supplementing or correcting personal data, please handle it through Dcard's correction function (see here for how to update your information). We may need you to provide relevant data to confirm the authenticity of the information you wish to update. For other requests, please send an email to: support@dcard.cc. This site will contact you and process your request after and receiving your email. You understand and agree that in order to protect your privacy, we may verify the identity of the requester by verifying his or her ID, or use other methods we think is appropriate when you exercise this right. In accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act, when you inquire, request to review, or request for a copy of your personal data, we will charge you the necessary costs:
- Inquire or request to review.
- Request a copy.
- Request to supplement or correct data.
- Request the cease of collection, processing, or usage.
- Request for deletion. However, Dcard will still keep your mobile phone number, email, and ID in a way that cannot be used to directly identify you, to ensure that the same information will not be used for registration again.
- If you refuse to provide part of your personal information, you may not be able to complete the registration process or use parts of the Dcard Service.
