Forum Moderator Guidelines

Requirements for Becoming a Forum Moderator

• Register a Dcard account and pass identity verification for at least 60 days

• Have activity records of logging into Dcard within 60 days

• No violation or suspension records on the platform

Rights of a Forum Moderator

• Within the boundaries of the site rules, a forum moderator has the right to establish forum rules.

• A forum moderator has the right to manage the posts and comments within their forum

• A forum moderator has the right to delete posts and comments that violate the rules.

• A forum moderator has the right to appoint and manage assistant forum moderators

Duties of a Forum Moderator

• Read and comply with the site rules, terms of use, and forum moderator guidelines. Process reported violations within 7 days

• Must respond to official communications (email, Dcard messages) within 5 business days

• When changing forum regulations, announce it within the forum and decide whether to implement a buffer period

• Maintain a healthy discussion atmosphere within the forum

• Cooperate with Dcard officials in forum management

Assistant Forum Moderator Appointment

• After serving as a forum moderator for 20 days, if the average daily number of posts on the forum reaches 6 or more, the forum moderator can appoint 1 assistant forum moderator

• The forum moderator personally selects and screens candidates for assistant forum moderator, who must meet the requirements

• If the official team assists in the search for an assistant forum moderator, the final decision is made by the forum moderator

• If the number of reported violations on the forum exceeds a certain threshold, the official team must promptly assist in finding an assistant forum moderator to maintain the forum's atmosphere

• The forum moderator applies for the appointment on the "Assistant Forum Moderator Application System," and the official team will review it within 5 business days.

• If an assistant forum moderator needs to step down, the forum moderator must apply to Dcard officials

Limitations on Forum Positions

• Each person can only hold 1 forum position

Conditions and Results of Forum Moderator Removal

• Forum moderators are strictly prohibited from engaging in commercial activities such as endorsements. Violators will be removed by the official team

• If a forum moderator violates the site rules and is suspended, they will be removed by the official team

• If a forum moderator fails to fulfill their duties as mentioned above and does not improve after communication with the official team, they will be removed by the official team

• If a forum moderator abuses their power and does not improve after communication with the official team, they will be removed by the official team

• If the official team determines that a forum moderator is unfit for the position, they will be removed by the official team

• Except for retirement applications, forum moderators who are removed for other reasons cannot become any forum's moderator for 6 months.

Forum Moderator Leave of Absence

• Must have served as a forum moderator for more than 30 days

• Must submit a leave of absence application to the Dcard community team at least 7 days in advance

• After approval from the official team, the leave of absence process is completed

• The leave of absence cannot exceed 7 days

• The interval between leave of absence cannot be less than 60 days

Forum Moderator Retirement Application

• Must have served as a forum moderator for more than 90 days

• Must announce the retirement of the original forum moderator within the forum and assist in finding a successor

• Must submit a retirement application to the Dcard community team at least 30 days in advance

• After approval from the official team and removal of the forum moderator status, the retirement process is completed
