How to Establish a Professional Identity?

Do you still remember the excitement when you first enrolled and received your department certification? 
As everyone gradually steps into the workforce, we realized that “graduation” doesn’t mean going inactive on Dcard.
To make it easier for alumni already working in society to share freely, Dcard’s “Professional Identity” has officially evolved and launched!

Steps to establish:
1. Your account must first complete phone verification and be at least 22 years old. For verification-related questions, please refer to Account Verification: Frequently Asked Questions  
2. Tap the bottom right corner of the App profile icon → Professional Identity (if you only see academic identity, swipe right to find the Professional Identity button)
3. You can directly search and select your profession from the list, then submit to complete the establishment of your professional identity!

Please note: Some professions may require verification after establishment; please follow the system prompts.

If you cannot find your professional identity, you can do the following:

1. First, enter your profession’s name in the search box.
2. If no matching option is found, click “Suggest to create ‘New Profession’” below.
3. Fill in the relevant information in the pop-up form and submit.
4. After submission, our customer service team will verify it and notify you via the email provided.

Whether you want to share salary secrets on the Job Board or talk about “various quirky behaviors of colleagues” on the Mood Board, your professional identity will make your voice more powerful!

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will my previous academic identity or nickname disappear?

   Don’t worry, absolutely not!
   Previously verified academic identities or nicknames remain intact,
   and you can freely choose which identity to display when posting or commenting based on your mood or the context.
    

2. Why can’t I find the button to establish a professional identity?

   If you don’t see the option, please first confirm:
   Age restriction: Professional identity is currently only available to users aged 22 or above who have passed phone verification.
   Dcard APP version is the latest: Please make sure your Dcard App is updated to the latest version. 
   iOS: 3.229.1
   Android: 8.215.1
   
   If everything above is confirmed but you still can’t find it, feel free to contact us and we’ll help you check!
    

3. Why can’t some professions be established?

   Currently, some professions are not yet available. We will gradually open more profession types based on usage.
   If your profession is not listed in the system, please contact us, and we will assist with verification and processing.
    

4. Can I have multiple professional identities at the same time?

   Currently, an account can only set one professional identity. We recommend choosing the identity that best represents your professional background.
