Type @ in the post, comment, or card input box, or click the @ button on the toolbar, and a menu will pop up for you to choose from！
- 🙋 Tag a person (persona): Let the person know directly and invite them to join the discussion!
- 💼 Tag a profession (e.g., @Software Engineer): Give peers a chance to see it and chat together!
- 🎓 Tag a school (e.g., @National Taiwan University): Gather everyone from your alma mater to discuss!
Reminder: Only selections made by “clicking” from the menu count! If you just type @someone without selecting from the menu, the system will not notify anyone; it’s just plain text.
💡 Frequently Asked Questions
1. I don’t want to keep getting notifications from a identity mentioned. How do I turn them off?
Go to “Notification Settings → Mentions.” Each profession, school identity, and persona has its own independent toggle. You can turn off whichever you want without affecting others.
2. Will I get a push notification immediately when I’m mentioned?
If you’re directly tagged (persona), you should get notified immediately unless you’ve turned off mention notifications for persona or blocked the person.
However, if you’re tagged as part of a profession or school group, the timing of the notification depends on the system’s conditions!
3. What happens to mention notifications after I block someone?
As long as both parties have blocked each other, neither will receive mention notifications from the other, and you won’t see the blocked person when searching for mention targets. No worries!
4. What can I do if I see inappropriate mention content?
You can directly report it through the interface. The moderation team will review and handle it according to site rules!
If you just don’t want to see mentions from a certain identity anymore, you can turn them off in notification settings.
If you find that someone is abusing the mention feature with frequent harassment in a short time, you can report it to us through this link.
5. If many people @ me in the same post, will I get multiple notifications?
No. Regardless of how many people mention you in the same post or how many times, it will only count as one notification. You won’t get multiple notifications just because many people @ you.
6. Can I use @school and browse collection pages in Hong Kong or other regions?
This feature is continuously being optimized! The school database currently includes about 218 schools in Taiwan only. If your school is outside Taiwan, you might not find it when searching mentions. The actual available schools are based on what is shown on the Dcard page.
